How to Combine 2–4 FFXIV Screenshots in XIV Frame

Combining screenshots is easier when you choose the frame shape before filling it with images. This guide covers the complete process for two to four screenshots.

1. Choose the frame shape first

1. Open Layout on desktop or the Layout sheet on mobile.
2. Choose Split for a side-by-side comparison or Vertical when the top-to-bottom order matters.
3. Choose Grid when you plan to show three or four images in a compact 2×2-style board.
4. Start with the shape that makes the final composition easiest to picture. You can compare the other presets after adding the screenshots.

2. Add and order the screenshots

1. Put the most important view first, such as a full-body shot or the main pose. Keep alternate views and close-ups after it.
2. Open Photo, then select the empty slot to add a file. The upload order becomes the initial composition order.
3. Use a card's order controls to move an image one position at a time.
4. Use Change when you want to replace one screenshot without rebuilding the composition. Each file can be up to 50MB and is optimized in the browser.
5. Once the screenshots are in place, compare the layout presets. Your images and per-image adjustments stay with the project.

3. Choose a canvas ratio

1. On desktop, open Layout and choose Auto first if you want to inspect the natural size of the selected layout.
2. Choose 16:9 for a conventional wide canvas.
3. Choose 2:1 when the images should form a long horizontal strip.
4. On mobile, change this from Export → Ratio Settings. The export ratio and the on-screen preview zoom are separate controls.

4. Tune the gaps and seams

1. Choose None under Transition when you want a clear gap between frames.
2. Adjust Image Gap from 0 to 100px until the spacing is even.
3. Choose Soft Blend when you want neighboring images to overlap.
4. Adjust Blend Width gradually. A very wide blend can cover important details near the edge of a frame.
5. Add Border Width when the composition needs a consistent outer margin.

5. Correct each crop

1. Select one image card at a time.
2. Use the Selected image scale slider or enter a value between 50% and 300%.
3. Drag the selected image on the canvas so faces, weapons, and outfit details are visible.
4. Scroll over the selected image for quick zoom adjustments.
5. Use Reset if one image becomes difficult to frame, then adjust it again from the default position.
6. Turn on Lock Image Position after all cards are aligned.

6. Add the finishing layers

1. Choose a background under Surface finish: White, Light Gray, or Transparent.
2. Keep Film Grain at 0% unless a small amount of texture helps unify the screenshots.
3. If needed, open Signature → Text and add a character name and server label.
4. If you have a Free Company mark, add it from Signature → Logo Upload and keep it away from the main subject.

7. Save and review

1. Use Fit to view or the zoom controls in the dock below the canvas, then check that the first card is still the visual lead and that no face or important detail is clipped.
2. Click Save PNG on desktop or use Export → Save PNG on mobile.
3. Open the downloaded PNG once before posting. If an edge is clipped, return to the active image card and correct its scale or position.
